About Swargate

Swargate has been a transport point for a long time. Today the MSRTC bus station sends buses to Mumbai, Satara, Kolhapur, Baramati and beyond, and the PMPML depot serves the city.

Swargate also marks the point where the old city of Pune ends. Jedhe Chowk, the main Swargate junction, is where Pune-Satara Road begins. Nehru Stadium, Sarasbaug, the Mahalaxmi Temple and the Ganesh Kala Krida Manch are all close by.

The metro opened here in 2024, and the line is now being extended south to Katraj. That has made the homes around Swargate more attractive to buyers who want to drive less.

Localities and Well-Known Societies in Swargate

Most people who buy “in Swargate” actually buy in one of the pockets around it. Each has a different feel.

  • Mukund Nagar: a calm, planned residential area just south-east of Swargate, with larger 3 and 4 BHK homes.
  • Gultekdi and Market Yard: the wholesale market area to the east, with older societies and new redevelopment towers.

Property Prices in Swargate Pune (2026)

Prices around Swargate vary a lot. An old flat near the bus station and a new tower near Sarasbaug can differ by more than double. Listing portals in 2026 show these ranges:

Buying Checklist for Swargate

  • Pick the pocket, not just the name. A flat next to the bus station and one in Mukund Nagar are very different. Visit both at peak hours.
  • Check redevelopment terms. For redeveloped buildings, read the development agreement, the new carpet area and the builder’s track record.
  • Verify MahaRERA registration. Match the possession date and carpet area on the MahaRERA website.
  • Ask about metro construction. Tunnel and station work for the Katraj extension may affect roads near Market Yard and Satara Road for some years.
  • Check drainage history. Ask neighbours whether the lane floods in heavy rain.
  • Confirm parking. Make sure the agreement names a covered or stilt parking slot.
