About Ravet

Ravet was a farming village on the Pavana River, which forms its southern border. For years it was mostly open land at the edge of Pimpri-Chinchwad. Locals call it the gateway to PCMC because the Expressway enters the city here.

Growth began once the Aundh–Ravet BRTS road opened in 2016. Builders bought large plots and launched mid-rise and high-rise townships. Colleges such as D.Y. Patil and Symbiosis Skills and Professional University also came up nearby.

Today Ravet is one of the most active new-project markets in the PCMC belt. Roads are wide and most buildings are new. It is still quieter than Wakad, with fewer malls and restaurants.

Localities and Well-Known Societies in Ravet

  • Aundh–Ravet BRTS Road: The main spine of Ravet, with most new towers and shops along it. It links Ravet to Punawale, Wakad and Aundh.
  • Ravet bridge (Sant Tukaram bridge): The bridge over the Pavana River that links Ravet to Punawale and Wakad.
  • Mukai Chowk: The junction towards Kiwale and the Old Mumbai–Pune Highway. A BRT line from Nigdi to Mukai Chowk is planned.
  • Ravet Gaon: The old village core, with older homes and local markets.
  • Pradhikaran side: The edge towards Nigdi Pradhikaran and Akurdi, with planned sectors and some plotted layouts.
  • Nano Homes: A large, older society of compact flats that many people search for by name.
  • Newer projects: Silver Gardenia, Vision Altia, Runal Gateway and Aurigaa GK Aryaban are among the well-known towers.

Connectivity and Metro

Ravet sits right at the junction of the Mumbai–Pune Expressway and the Katraj–Dehu Road Bypass. That makes trips to Mumbai, Hinjewadi and Baner quick outside peak hours. The Rainbow BRTS buses run on the Aundh–Ravet road.

  • Metro: Ravet has no metro station. The PCMC to Nigdi extension of the Purple Line, now under construction, will bring a station at Bhakti Shakti Chowk in Nigdi, a short drive away. MahaMetro targets late 2026 for it.
  • Railway: Akurdi station is the closest. Chinchwad station is also nearby.
  • Hinjewadi: Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park is about 11 km away by road.
  • Airport: Pune International Airport is about 27 km away, roughly an hour’s drive.

Most residents need a car or two-wheeler for daily life. Plan your commute before you buy.

Schools, Hospitals and Shopping

  • Schools: S.B. Patil Public School, D.Y. Patil Dnyanshanti School, Wisdom World School, Mount Litera Zee School and Good Samaritan School.
